EMDR Consultation

You completed EMDR basic training. You're using it with clients. And you're finding that the protocol, as clean as it is, raises more questions the more you use it: What do I do when the client can't access the memory clearly? When defenses are high? When trauma is relational, not event-based? When the standard approach just doesn't fit?

That's exactly where consultation comes in.

I offer EMDR consultation for therapists who are serious about their clinical development. Whether you're working toward EMDR Certification, seeking ongoing peer support in complex casework, or wanting a space to think more deeply about your trauma practice.

What to Expect

My consultation style is reflective, collaborative, and focused on fostering an understanding of the AIP model. I want to help you become a more confident, creative, and clinically grounded EMDR therapist.

As an EMDRIA approved Consultant-in-Training, I bring particular expertise in:

  • Complex and developmental trauma — attachment disruption, early adverse experiences, relational trauma

  • High defenses, shame, and poor insight — clients where the "standard" EMDR protocol needs significant adaptation

  • Neurodivergent clients — sensory sensitivities, processing differences, and adapted protocols

  • LGBTQIA+ affirming EMDR practice — attending to identity, marginalization, and minority stress in case conceptualization

  • EMDR with children and adolescents — including EMDR storytelling methods and developmentally adapted approaches

  • Advanced EMDR techniques — Two-Handed Interweave, Building on Positive Memory Networks, The Meeting Place, Attachment-Focused EMDR, and more

  • Integrative Adaptations — weaving EMDR with AEDP, IFS, ACT, and other modalities to enhance processing and meet clients where standard protocol falls short

Working toward EMDR Certification?

Consultation with an EMDRIA Approved Consultant (or Consultant-in-Training) is a required component of EMDR Certification. I can provide consultation hours that count toward certification. If you're in the process, I'm happy to discuss where you are in your hour requirements and how we might work together
