Growing Shell Scholarship

Clinical Supervision

Widening access to DORA-compliant clinical supervision for pre-licensed clinicians whose access to quality supervision is shaped by structural barriers.

About the Scholarship

Your supervisor shouldn’t depend on what you can pay

Supervision is a relational practice. The supervisor-supervisee relationship is the vessel through which a clinician learns not just how to apply clinical theory, but how to be a therapist — how to hold complexity, respond to ethical ambiguity, and remain present with suffering without losing themselves.

Too often, agency promises of supervision don’t materialize. Too often, pre-licensed clinicians pay out of pocket for supervision they can’t afford because the alternative is losing their licensure pathway altogether. The clinicians most likely to be caught in this dynamic — in community mental health, from marginalized communities, at nonprofit agencies serving clients who have been failed by systems — are also the ones least able to absorb that cost.

This scholarship is how we pay that forward. Applicants do not need to document financial hardship. We trust clinicians as the experts on their own circumstances.

A Note on the Waitlist

The Growing Shell Scholarship for Supervision operates on a rolling waitlist. Because supervisory relationships often span 2–5 years and there is only one scholarship slot, wait times are typically substantial.

If you would like an estimate of the current anticipated wait time before applying, or if your licensure timeline won’t accommodate a long wait, please reach out. We can help you think through alternatives, including referrals to other qualified Colorado supervisors.

We would rather help you find supervision that works for your timeline than have you wait indefinitely for a slot that may not open in time.
