Clinical Supervision
Supervision toward Colorado independent licensure — grounded in the Turtle Shell Approach, with real clinical depth and embedded business coaching.
Two licensure pathways, one approach
Clinical supervision is a legally distinct relationship from consultation. As your supervisor, I carry primary clinical and legal responsibility for the work you do with clients — which means supervision here isn’t just hours on a log. It’s real, deep, ongoing oversight of your cases, paired with training in the Turtle Shell Approach and embedded business coaching. The people who thrive in this kind of supervision are the ones who want a clinical identity, not just hours.
Licensed Social Workers
Post-MSW clinicians working toward LCSW licensure in Colorado through the Colorado Board of Social Work Examiners.
Confirm with Colorado DORA that Turtle Shell supervision hours satisfy your specific licensure requirements before we begin.
Licensed Professional Counselor Candidates
Post-master’s clinicians working toward LPC licensure in Colorado through the Colorado Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners.
HB20-1206 supervisor training requirements apply to LPC supervisors. Direct confirmation with DORA recommended before we begin.
More than hours on a log
Clinical Oversight That’s Real
I review your cases. I issue supervisory directives when clinically or ethically warranted. I’m available for urgent clinical contact between sessions when you’re facing a crisis or mandatory reporting situation. Supervisees must notify me as soon as practicable of any client crisis or significant clinical event.
Turtle Shell Approach Training
A 6–12 month curriculum woven into your supervision: trauma-informed and attachment-focused clinical philosophy, EMDR-informed techniques, neurodiversity-affirming practice, specialty population protocols (IDD, LGBTQIA+, foster care), and optional AAI integration.
Business Coaching, Embedded
Monthly 30–60 minute business coaching sessions embedded in the supervision relationship. Topics include practice building, marketing a niche, financial literacy for clinicians, CE/training development, and specialty credentialing pathways including C-AAIS.
Individual or group
Individual Supervision
One-on-one supervision focused on your caseload, clinical development, and licensure progress. Recommended minimum: 1 hour per week, or as required by DORA and your employer. Maximum caseload of 3 individual supervisees at any time — intentionally capped to protect supervisory quality.
Inquire About Supervision →Group Supervision
Small-group supervision combining case presentation with peer learning across multiple clinical perspectives. All group members must have signed supervision agreements on file before attending. Per-supervisee rate. De-identified case materials required.
Ask About Group Openings →What Supervision Here Requires From You
Because I hold primary clinical and legal responsibility for your work with clients, supervision here carries obligations on both sides. Before we begin, you’ll need to have:
A current LSW or LPCC license in good standing with Colorado DORA. Active malpractice insurance. Any required DORA supervision plan forms completed. And a signed Supervision Agreement and Policy Packet acknowledging our expectations of each other.
Turtle Shell supervision is not a crisis resource — supervisees manage real-time crises independently and notify me as soon as practicable. That said, I’m available for urgent clinical contact when a situation warrants it.
Scholarship support for supervision
The Growing Shell Scholarship for Supervision offers one half-tuition scholarship to an LSW or LPCC candidate experiencing financial hardship or structural barriers to quality supervision.
